Role of Prof. Louis Levy, subject of Cliff Stern's documentary in this film, is played by non-actor and therapist friend of Woody's, world renowned Martin S. Bergmann, clinical professor of psychology of New York University post-doctoral program.

Lester is based on Larry Gelbart, whom both Woody Allen and Alan Alda worked with and reportedly disliked because of his despotic way. Lester's various comments such as "Comedy is tragedy plus time" and "If it bends, it's funny; if it breaks, it's not funny" were actual Gelbart quotes.



至於劇中 Woody 裝腔作勢，討人厭到極點的 Lester，也是真有 ( 影射 ) 其人，連口頭禪也都是直接引用自該喜劇作家，不愧是犬儒天王伍迪亂倫！巧的是，Larry Gelbart 就是 Alan Alda 的電視影集代表作 M*A*S*H 的編劇之一，把自己賭爛的人飾演的唯妙唯肖，夠冷潮熱諷吧！
